It seemed to have the right mix of academic rigor and support.

Group sessions were fun because I got to talk to many of my classmates that I normally wouldn’t get the chance to speak to outside of class.

It was the most difficult part, but writing 作文 was the most interesting and productive thing I did. It really allowed me to see my skill grow and develop really clearly by how well I could express ideas.

Nikko Edomura because it was a full day trip and we were given time to explore independently from the entire group on a fixed schedule.
It was a great experience and there was a lot to do. I loved it the most as it best represented one of my favorite eras.

Drill practice in class was the most beneficial–especially when the instructors called on us randomly (individually or in pairs). It kept you on your toes!

I also LOVE the kanji textbook! It was the first one I’ve used in which the vocabulary we learn and practice in class correlates to what we learn. My only complaint is that sometimes the example isn’t clear about when strokes should touch or not when handwriting them.

I selected KCP because it was the most affordable out of the all US programs i researched. Furthermore, the school is located in Shinjuku, a prime location in Japan.

The Cooking Class was great because we got to interact with lots of Japanese students in both English and Japanese whilst learning how to make traditional Japanese food.

The Sports Day brought all the students together since everyone in our class came together to try to win!

The kanji books and readings. In class activities and free conversation time was very helpful for me.

The intensity of the program was a good challenge for me. Meeting and communicating with my classmates using only Japanese as the unifying language was also very rewarding.
