Study as much as you can, but don't be too hard on yourself.

Spencer from Spring 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

I enjoyed the school trip to Chichibu because of the beautiful view of the flowers. I also enjoyed being able to make Kabuto as an activity for Children's Day.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The positive parts of the programs are interacting with the teachers and making friends. The negative parts of the program are how much homework is assigned and how many tests there are each week.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The most helpful part of class is reviewing the material for whatever lesson we're covering. Drill practice and pair work also helped.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Study as much as you can, but don't be too hard on yourself. It's important to take the program seriously, but it's also important to take care of yourself.

Testimonials

I wanted to be in a major city in Japan and learn Japanese, and this program had good reviews online in addition to being affiliated with several universities that I knew of. There was also a decent amount of information available online from non-official sources, which gave me good information on living arrangements and general life as a student.
