Be diligent. What you put in is what you'll get out of the program.

April from Winter 2023

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The disaster preparedness culture class was fun! It was a completely new experience.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

English support was really beneficial the second half of the semester. I feel like the yoshyu in the kakuka noto was more busy work that actually productive. Yes it's easy, but I don't feel completely necessary.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

I like the pair work and minna no nigingo book, but I am not really a fan of drill practice.

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Be diligent. What you put in is what you'll get out of the program. Even though it's seriously intense, I really enjoyed my experience.

Testimonials

If you’re looking for an intensive course, then KCP is the place to go! Although it was hard work, it was also a lot of fun and I’m very pleased with my current language skill – and I’ve only just finished Level 1! Going out with the class for a final dinner really showed me how much we’d learnt as we had no problems in conveying our feelings even though our only common language was Japanese. I’d come back in a heartbeat.
