It was also nice to see the teachers in a more relaxed environment and just enjoy the day together

Pascal from Summer 2022

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

art week was fun. However, i think participation is only applicable for people with an artistic skill (which i have 0%). A karaoke event (with only Japanese songs to practice) or something like that would also be fun with a clear value

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

supplemental grammar book (recommended by teachers). English grammar support sessions (amazing). Classes are in general well structured

Any suggestions for improving class activities or materials?

more writing homework. homework should also include reusing of old grammar (as in: us at least x grammar patterns learned since chapter 20)

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

excursions with Tanaka sensei. He knows so much about the places we went. It was also nice to see the teachers in a more relaxed environment and just enjoy the day together

Testimonials

I found tests to be a good indicator of where I was at over homework. The homework only covered one topic usually, but tests would cover a wider variety of them mixed around. I’ve never studied Japanese from a textbook in this style, so the textbooks have been extremely helpful in visualizing Japanese grammar points.
