Speak to as many native speakers as you can during your stay in Japan!

Sydney from Summer 2018

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I think the time building listening and conversational skills helped me best remember the course content. Using language in a meaningful, practical way is the best way to retain information.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Speak to as many native speakers as you can during your stay in Japan. Go to new places outside of school -- I found it very helpful to go to local coffee shops, izakaya, and parks to put myself into situations where I could converse with new people. Don't be shy! If you use what you've learned in class outside of the classroom, you'll have an easier time remembering it under stress.

Testimonials

I selected the KCP language program because I wanted to immerse myself in Japanese culture. I wanted to improve my Japanese, and there are glowing reviews of the teachers at KCP. The final verdict was decided when I looked up how much the program costs, and I realized that the short-term summer program is significantly more affordable than many other programs.
