I got to explore many different places with the culture class.
What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?
I liked we had a mandatory preparation class on the Saturday before the big exam. We would cover everything and I was a really good refresher. I do like the textbooks for the course. Especially the textbook for reading practice because it was level appropriate and a vocabulary book in the back so that I could look up words that I was unfamiliar with. I find it hard to find interesting level appropriate reading material so it was helpful for me. Also I liked that we had in class writing assignments.
Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?
It's a really great program, but you're going to get out of it what you put into it. I have really bad social anxiety and suffer from a bit of depression so that really impeded my ability to improve speaking skills, make friends, and even asking for help in class was a trial for me BUT I still gave it my best shot and if you feel like you can push through and you're willing to put in the work, you can improve tremendously and the teachers/staff are always willing to help you. They check up on you and offer whatever service or advice they can to make your experience a positive one.
