Learning about the Japanese mannerisms and thought processes behind them.

Nicholas from Fall 2016

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The Yamanashi trip; I thought it was a good way to experience other parts of Japan with your friends while still having a safety net (the teachers and staff that accompanied us) in case something went wrong.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I really enjoyed the actual classes themselves. It was very engaging and the teachers were resourceful in the case that someone didn't understand something. This one just comes down to personal preference; i didn't really enjoy the club that i attended. I only went one day but didn't really feel like it was something that i would want to go to again.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Personally, I found the small group work to be the most helpful. It was easier to organize my thoughts when i had people to bounce ideas off of.

Testimonials

I selected this program because it allows me to use my student loans to attend, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to have this experience. I also wanted a challenge and to improve my fluency as fast as possible. The pace at KCP is challenging but helps me focus.
