[The most productive and interesting aspects of the program was] probably staying late and talking to my teachers, asking questions about things I didn't understand

Abigail from Winter 2016

Why did you select this program?

Because it is an immersive, intensive program that will get me to learn the most Japanese in one year than I would ever learn in college back in the States.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

Probably staying late and talking to my teachers, asking questions about things I didn't understand in order to learn more and be able to understand.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Group discussions and again, staying after school to ask clarifying questions.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

Being able to see some cool locations on the overnight class trip.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Just to push yourself harder than you would in America because this is the only time you have to vastly improve your Japanese - make friends with people who can't speak English because it forces you to use what you have learned in class.

KCP offered the most in learning experience and was cheaper for me as a college student.
