The teachers and staff at KCP are very helpful and pleasant to work with.

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The Yamanashi bus trip was really amazing and gave me the opportunity to visit other parts of Japan outside of Tokyo. Visiting Asahi Shimbun was also interesting because it was something that I most likely wouldn't do on my own.

Why did you select this program?

It was a very convenient program length/date and the cost was one of the best I'd ever seen.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most interesting aspect was getting to study with students from around the world that didn't speak my own language, so communicating in Japanese was the only way that we could it really helped me to practice speaking, even outside of class I have no complaints about the program, except maybe the length of the speech contest otherwise, it was very intensive and helpful.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The most useful activities were the textbook exercises because they had only examples, no directions, which forced me to figure out how to structure sentences better. I also got to work with a partner, so when I didn't understand something they most likely could help me to and vice versa.

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

The people who ran the dorm were always very pleasant and helpful. They also tried often to converse with me in Japanese which was helpful. I have very high thoughts toward dormatory.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Make sure to communicate with the students at KCP who are of a different country than yourself. One of the most helpful forms of study is talking to someone who only understands you when you speak Japanese. It's also a great way to strengthen your understanding of cultures outside of Japanese.

Any other comments or suggestions?

The teachers and staff at KCP are very helpful and pleasant to work with. The classes were challenging and engaging every day. The program was amazing and I would recommend it to any student that seriously wants to improve their Japanese while getting to experience life in Japan.
