KCP Anime and Manga Students Visit TV Tokyo
On July 18, KCP Anime and Manga students visited TV Tokyo Corporation, one of the major Tokyo television stations. It is particularly known for its large number of animation programs including Pokemon, Naruto, and Bleach.
TV Tokyo Corporation (株式会社テレビ東京), also known as Teleto (combination of terebi (television) and “Tokyo”), is located in Toranomon, Minato, Tokyo. The company is partly owned by Nihon Keizai Shimbun, one of the largest media corporations in Japan.

KCP students were given a tour of the studio and they listened to talks from TV Tokyo’s animation producers. The producers explained how they make animation programs and how they introduce Japanese animations overseas. The students saw firsthand how live programming works and how new shows are made. They were also introduced to the latest technology in the business such as a relay mobile car and a satellite antenna. This gave students the opportunity to learn about the business side of animation and have all their questions answered by experts in the business.
